Hot rising Puerto Rican super featherweight prospect Edgardo “Sasso” López (9-0-1, 4 KOs) retained his CABOFE belt winning a unanimous decision over power puncher Miguel “Mikito” Soto (12-2, 12 KOs) in a eight round bout on Saturday night at the Coliseo Roger L. Mendoza, Caguas, Puerto Rico. “Sasso” Lopez dominated “Mikito” Soto from the first bell, connecting perfect jabs and big right hands over Mikito; who had his moments during the fight but “Sasso” was too much. “I said that I was ready for the challenge, we put in practice what we work at training camp. Mikito is tough fighter but we did a great job to beat him,” Sasso said.
In other results, top lightweight prospect Jeffrey “Dynamite” Fontanez remained unbeaten when he land a power body shot that stopped Orlando Vazquez to improve his outstanding record to 14-0 with 11 KOs. Yomar “The Magic” Alamo scored a first round knockout over Hector Velez, heavyweight contender Carlos “Chicano” Cotto also won a first round knockout over Oscar Adorno, Antonio Ortiz won his fourth fight in a row by KO improving his record to 4-0 with 2 knockouts and Angel Acosta scored a brutal first round KO over Alexis Diaz to move his record to 6-0 with 6KOs.
The successful series “Boxeo Boricua WAPA 2 Deportes” will feature the super bantamweight rising star Jose “Wonder Boy” López (11-0, 9KOs) from the Guillermo Angulo, Coliseum on Saturday March 29.
