Sauerland inks Juergen Braehmer

Just before Saturday’s championship fight between Arthur Abraham and Robert Stieglitz in Berlin’s O2 World, former WBO light heavyweight world champion Juergen Braehmer (38-2, 30 KOs) signed a promotional contract with Sauerland Event. “I want to fight again and again become world champion,” said Braehmer, who lost his title after pulling out of three consecutive defenses. His trainer will be Karsten Rower, who worked with former IBF middleweight king Sebastian Sylvester. “I’m very happy,” concluded Braehmer. “With Sauerland I’ll again have a professional partner on my side. I look forward to working together.”

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
