The final press conference was held today at Fox Hollow for Saturday night’s NBC Sports Network Fight Night at The Paramount in Huntington, New York. In the main event, undefeated heavyweights Vyacheslav “Czar” Glazkov (14-0, 10 KOs) of Lugansk, Ukraine and Philadelphia’s Malik Scott (35-0, 12 KOs) will battle over ten rounds. Scott spoke for nearly 8 minutes.

Malik Scott: There’s a lot of questions out there. I’m going to answer every one of them Saturday night…I am not Tor Hamer. This is not that type of party. I’m from North Philly. We do not quit on no stools. You’re definitely gonna have to put me out. I’m going out on my shield. We do not quit on no stools…I’m 35-0 for a reason. Talk about the knockout ratio and that’s OK, but I’m gonna say this as far as knockouts are concerned: Any fighter that does not have power, if he works on certain things, lift weights leave the women alone and focus just on power, he can get that, but what I got is God-given. This boxing ability, this speed, these reflexes, this agility, you’re not going to find nobody 230, 240 moving like this…I have all the attributes and abilities of a great champion and Saturday night I can’t wait for the world to see.

Vyacheslav Glazkov: Malik Scott was talking a lot. I don’t like to talk much and I will do that in the ring. I hope you’re going to see a real fight. My opponent and I don’t have any losses on our records and we’re gong to be trying hard to keep it that way.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
