Cotto, Seda stop foes

Unbeaten lightweight Abner “Pin” Cotto (16-0, 7 KOs) scored a seventh round TKO over Sergio “El Serenito” Perez (27-14, 18 KOs) on Saturday night at the Coliseo Roger Mendoza in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Cotto dropped Perez in round one and punished Perez until he finally quit between rounds six and seven. Time was :01 of round seven.

Top bantamweight title contender Cesar Seda Jr. (24-1, 17 KOs) easily demolished faded former world title challenger Lorenzo Trejo (31-26-1, 18 KOs). Seda dropped Trejo three times in round one and got the stoppage after another knockdown in round two.

In a clash of unbeaten featherweights, Jose “Wonder Boy” Lopez (6-0, 5 KOs) dropped Eric Gotay (3-1, 1 KO) in rounds one and four, but had to go the distance for the first time in his career. Lopez won a four round unanimous decision by a score of 40-34 on all cards.
