WBA#6/WBC#15 female Canadian Olivia Gerula (10-10-2, 3 KOs), 130/75, made a good display of her shifty footwork and accurate shots to win an upset split but well-received decision (78-76, 78-77 and 76-77) over WBC#4/WBA#7 light Fujin Raika (18-5-1, 6 KOs), 132.5, over eight two-minute rounds on Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan. Gerula, formerly a kick-boxer, landed light but accurate punches from Hamed-like angles, busily moving side-to-side, to and fro, all the way. Olivia, four years her junior at 29, outspeeded and outclassed the hard-hitting but slower Raika, one of the most famous women boxers, despite her continual nose-bleeding caused by an accidental butt in the fourth.
