World heavyweight contender Shane Cameron has had excellent sparring sessions from former world IBF cruiserweight champion Kelvin Davis and Chauncey Welliver both of the USA as he enters the final training days prior to his showdown against David Tua on October 3 at Hamilton, New Zealand. Tua is the favorite with the bookmakers in New Zealand, despite being out of the ring since 2007. Ken Reinsfield who manages Cameron is confident his charge will be the victor next week. Reinsfield proclaimed, “Shane has been active against very good American heavyweights scoring impressive wins where Tua has been inactive since 2007.” Tua’s promoter, Cedric Kushner, who is in New Zealand for the big fight, is equally confident the Tuaman will have his hand raised on fight night. “Who has Cameron beat?” Kushner asked.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
