ShoBox tripleheader tonight

Three excellent matchups on tonight’s edition of ShoBox: The New Generation (live on SHOWTIME at 11PM ET/PT). In the main event, WBC #6 super middleweight contender Allan Green (28-1, 20 KOs) takes on unbeaten southpaw Tarvis Simms (25-0-1 11 KOs) at the First Council Casino in Newkirk, Oklahoma.

Green has previously fought lefthanders three times in his career, all victories. “And they were all on short notice too,” he said. Simms, who has long sought a major fight, got the opportunity when Green’s original foe Victor Oganov was injured less then two weeks before the fight. “I know people aren’t picking me to win,” said Simms, “but that’s why I’m going to go out there and shock the world.”

In the second televised fight of the night, welterweight Antwone Smith (16-1-1, 8 KOs) takes on unbeaten Henry Crawford (22-0-1, 9 KOs) in a ten-rounder battle between two of the division’s brightest prospects. The TV opener features unbeaten Marcus “Too Much” Johnson (17-0, 14 KOs) against Victor Villereal (8-3-2, 4 KOs) in an eight-round super middleweight affair.
