SHOWTIME comes to Canada!

Super Channel, Canada’s national pay television network, is pleased to announce that through an exclusive agreement it will be offering Canadians two streams of exciting Live Showtime Boxing – Championship Boxing and ShoBox “The New Generation.” Super Channel is offering access to boxing matches that have never been made available to Canadians before. Beginning with the Vic Darchinyan-Jorge Arce matchup that fans, media and the fighters themselves have been clamouring for – two of boxing’s biggest little men and hardest punchers clash on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING Feb. 7.
It all comes LIVE from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California in vibrant HD.

Darchinyan’s newly acquired 115-pound International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Association (WBA) world titles will be on the line. As a bonus Feb. 7 also features Antonio DeMarco (19-1-1, 13 KOs) vs. Almazbek “Kid Diamond” Raiymkulov (27-1-1, 15KOs).

Then Feb. 27, Super Channel will offer a ShoBox event – fighters to be announced at a later date.

“With Showtime Boxing and the Hennessy Sports matches we announced yesterday, Super Channel is bringing fight cards from around the world to Canadians, bouts that they have never been offered before,” said Sandy Perkins, Super Channel’s Vice President Programming. “Super Channel is offering a unique roster of programming that can’t be viewed anywhere else on television.”

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
