Big-punching super middleweight Francisco Sierra (22-3, 21 KOs) scored an impressive and bloody seven round technical decision over previously undefeated contender, Donovan “Da Bomb” George (20-1-1, 17 KOs) on Friday night at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma. George was rocked in round one, and staggered again in round two with blood gushing from his nose. George was a bloody mess as he continued to be punished. Sierra scored a knockdown in round seven and then dropped George again hard just after the bell. George was given five minutes to recover but was deemed unable to continue. Sierra was deducted two points for the foul. Scores were 68-63, 69-62, 69-62.

In the main event, welterweight Ashley Theophane (27-4-1, 7 KOs) stunned IBF #3 rated Delvin Rodriguez (25-5-2, 14 KOs), taking a controversial majority decision over ten by scores of 95-95, 96-94, 96-94. Rodriguez seemed to have done more than Theophane in a mostly uneventful encounter, but didn’t dominate enough for the satisfaction of the judges.

In another notable bout, middleweight Andy Lee (26-1, 16 KOs) scored a fifth round KO over James Cook (11-3-1, 8 KOs).

Other results:
Jonathan Gonzalez TKO6 Abel Perry

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
