Highly ranked Minimumweight warriors Handig M. Singwangcha (12-5, 7 KOs) of Northern Samar and Katsunari Takayama (24-5, 10 KOs) of Osaka Japan both tipped the scales at the exact weight of 105 pounds for their scheduled IBF Pan Pacific Minimumweight Title clash tomorrow at the Benguet State Unversity Gym in La Trinidad Benguet near Baguio City. Former world champion Takayama is currently rated #6 while Singwangcha is #11 both by the International Boxing Federation. The bout will also serve as eliminator with the winner getting a possible break to fight IBF Minimumweight Kingpin Mario Rodriguez who recently grabbed the belt from African champ Nkosinathi Joyi.
Handig is being managed by f Baguio based promoter Brico Santig who is promoting the event and co-managed by Thai Promoter Naris Singwangcha who is also in town to witness the event. The third man in the ring will be Hall of Fame candidate International Referee Bruce Mc Tavish.
Also seeing action will be WBO Oriental Bantamweight Champion Dayer G. Singwangcha who will defend his belt against dangerous Indonesian Lande Olin.
The event is also made possible through the support of International Promoter Naris Singwangcha, La Trinidad Mayor Gregorio Abalos and Congressman Ronald Cosalan of Benguet. Proceeds of the ticket will be given to charity.
