Two-time WBC champion Sirimongkol Singwancha (69-2,41KOs) impressively captured the vacant ABCO continental welterweight title as he stopped ABCO #6 welter Dennis Padua (reportedly 9-7-1) on Wednesday at Wangli Ground in Pathumthani, Thailand. The experienced Thai fighter excitingly exchanged punches with the Filipino who prepared well for this significant fight, landing many tough counterpunches to obstruct Sirimongkol’s aggression. However, Sirimongkol changed his tactics from round four, using a body-attack which effectively weakened his opponent. Finally, the bout was terminated when the local hero landed a big bodyshot which viciously hurt his foe, then he displayed a one-side attack to drop the Filipino for a full ten-count at 1:29 of round five.

In other action, former WBO Asia-Pacific 130lb title holder Jesus Singwancha (17-9, 7 KOs) won all 58-56 scorecards over Filipino Mike Tumbaga (reportedly 12-17-2). Former WBF 154lb title holder Kiatchai Singwancha (32-8, 21 KOs) won a majority decision over Chalermchai Singnumpattana. Former WBC international 126lb champion Plaisakda Singwancha (38-21, 32 KOs) dropped Saknarong Pattanasing twice before he scored a TKO at 1:26 of round five. And Kongdej Sithtrajtrakan stopped Chanachai Pattanasing in round two.

The event was promoted by Manop Iamthuam and Naris Singhawungcha of Naris Boxing Promotion.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
