Former Australian lightweight champion Brett “Handful” Smith (15-1-1, 7 KOs) defeated Japan’s Ryusei Yoshida (22-5, 10 KOs) in the main event at the Mansfield Tavern, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on Friday. Smith controlled the contest as he consistently connected with accurate combinations. Yoshida was deducted points for continual holding in rounds four and six with referee Phil Austin disqualifying the visitor at 0:47 of round eight. Smith’s only loss is to Filipino Jack Asis.
Middleweight Nathan Carroll (8-1, 4 KOs) out scored Daniel Roy Maxwell (0-10) over six rounds by scores of 60-54, 60-54, 60-54.
Light heavyweight Trent Broadhurst (8-1, 5 KOs) scored a fourth round knockout over Faimasasa Tabui (7-13-1, 5 KOs) at 1:33 of the round.
welterweight Jason Kanofski (16-7-3, 2 KOs) outscored Nuengslam Kiatsongsang (0-1) in a closely contested bout over six rounds. Scores 57-57, 58-56, 58-56.
Welterweight Kris George (1-0, 1 KO) was impressive in scoring a knockout over Trent Hudson (0-1) in round one. Hudson counted out at 1:23.
Classy female lightweight Sabrina Ostowari (4-0, 1 KO) outscored Bronwyn Noffke (0-1) over four action rounds by scores 40-35, 40-35, 40-35.
