Former IBF welterweight champion Daniela Smith (11-3) will clash with Lauryn Eagle (5-2-1, 3 KOs) of Australia over ten rounds at the Waitakere Trust Stadium, Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday. Eagle is a former Miss Universe Entrant and a world water ski champion and will start a heavy underdog. Smith captured the world title in 2010 when she dominated Germany’s Jennifer Retzke over ten rounds, but lost the belt in 2011 when South Africa’s Noni Tenge stopped her in four rounds. Legendary broadcaster Colonel Bob Sheridan will call the fight that will be televised on pay-per-view television throughout New Zealand. Promoter Dean Lonergan.
