SoCal Fight Scene!

Due to popular demand, the popular Southern California Fight Scene is back. Numerous fight cards are coming up in the immediate and not too distant future.
Fight fans in San Diego will be in heaven on Thursday night as two fight cards will be taking place in the city. At the popular 4th and B venue, Craig Zimmerman & his MEZ Sports Partners present a seven-bout card headlined by heavyweight Damian “Bolo” Wills. Scheduled to take on Wills (23-2-1, 17 KO’s) in the eight round bout is hard-hitting veteran Stacy Frazier (14-5, 13 KO’s). Also on the card is unbeaten light heavyweight prospect Denis Grachev (5-0, 3 KO’s) taking on Ayodeji Fadeyi (10-6-1, 6 KO’s) in a six round bout. Popular flyweight veteran Benjamin “Benji” Garcia (13-11-3, 1 KO) will take on Eduardo Morales (10-9-2, 10 KO’s) in a six round bout. Tickets start at $30 and go up to $65 for ringside. Across town at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, Bobby D Presents features popular San Diego fighter Christopher Martin in an eight round bout against Juan Jose Beltran. Also on the card is unbeaten heavyweight prospect Lateef Kayode (5-0, 4 KO’s) squaring off against Reuben Alvarez (4-1, 4 KO’s) in a four round bout. Unbeaten Heavyweight Marcus Dickerson (4-0-1, 2 KO’s) takes on Andrae Carthon (1-1-1, 1 KO) in a four round bout. For tickets & information, call (619) 420-8866.
For Los Angeles-area residents wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, the Santa Ynez Valley on the Central Coast will be the place to be on Friday night. At the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, Gary Shaw Productions will present another installment of the popular “ShoBox: The New Generation” series. In the main event, welterweight Luis Carlos Abregu will take on Irving Garcia in a 10 round bout, while Marvin Quintero squares off against Wes Ferguson in an eight round lightweight bout. Unbeaten heavyweight Odlanier Solis will face Robert Hawkins in an eight round bout. Tickets start at just $24 and go up to $75 for ringside. Boxing returns to the Inland Empire of Southern California as William Schunke and his Two Feathers Promotions stages a card at the FOX Theatre in San Bernardino. Headlining the card is bantamweight Michael Franco (14-0, 9 KO’s) in an eight round bout against a fighter to be determined. For tickets and information, call (760) 559-6419.
After a successful second round stoppage over Carlos Vinan in March, lightweight John Molina (16-0, 12 KO’s) is scheduled to return on Saturday, May 16th on the undercard of the Andre Ward-Edison Miranda fight. The bout will take place at the Oracle Arena in Ward’s hometown of Oakland, CA. Molina, who fights under the Goossen Tutor banner, has no opponent yet on that card.
In an earlier story, Fightnews.com reported that contender Miguel Espino was managed and promoted by Manny Cota. Espino is actually managed by renowned trainer John Bray.
