It has been confirmed that WBA Interim super featherweight champion Jorge “Coloradito” Solis of Mexico will defend his world crown against unbeaten world-rated Francisco Cordero (23-0, 15 KOs) from Colombia. The fight will be September 4 in Guadalajara in the Olympic Theater of the University de Guadalajara. Cordero was initially the main candidate to fight Solis, but then it seemed that it would be Nicaraguan Rene “Chirizo” Gonzalez, before Cordero was ultimately chosen.
Also on the card, Mexican WBC jr flyweight champion Omar Nino will face Colombian Ronald Barrera in his first title defense since regaining the belt.
