Soto decisions Buelvas

Former multi-division world champion Humberto “Zorrita” Soto (64-8-2, 35 KOs) dropped Wilfrido “Roca” Buelvas in round one, but had to go the full twelve to win by scores of 118-108, 118-106 and 118-106 on Saturday night at the Explanada Municipal in Tlalnepantla, México. 18,000+ were on hand to see Soto retain his WBC international silver super lightweight belt. Soto is hoping to land a title shot later this year.

WBC Youth super bantamweight beltholder Rey Vargas (20-0, 17 KOs) scored a sixth round KO over Vergel “Superman” Nebram (17-8, 8 KOs). Both fighters were down in the fight.

Flyweight Luis “Gallito” Ceja (26-5-3, 21 KOs) won an eight round split decision over Juan “Dinamita” Hernandez.
