Soto defeats Lopez for WBF belt

Three time world champion Humberto “Zorrita” Soto (59-8-28, 34 KOs) scored a hard fought twelve round unanimous decision over Jose “Piston” Lopez (17-3-1, 10 KOs) to claim Lopez’WBF welterweight belt on Saturday night at the Estadio Morelos y Pavon in Ecapetec, Mexico State. Scores were 115-111, 114-112 and 115-112.

In other action, junior welterweight Antonio “Kañas” Lozada Jr. (29-1, 25 KOs) scored a second round KO over Edgar Llanes and female light flyweight Yessica “Kika” Chávez shut down Kanittha Kokietgym by scores of 100-90 on all cards in a WBF female title fight. The event was presented by Promociones del Pueblo.
