Former world champion Humberto “Zorrita” Soto (60-8-2, 34 KOs) won a hard fought twelve round unanimous decision over Silverio “Chamaco” Ortiz (26-14, 12 KOs) on Saturday night at the Arena Itson in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico. Scores were 117-110, 117-110 and 118-108. The bout was for the vacant WBC silver super lightweight belt.
The Ceja Brothers both scored five round KOs. World-rated and unbeaten Julio “Pollito” Ceja (24-0, 22 KOs) knocked out Henry “Crespo” Maldonado (16-2, 11 KOs) to retain his WBA Fecarbox bantamweight belt, while light flyweight Luis “Gallito” Ceja (23-3-3, 19 KOs) turned the trick against Alejandro “Terrible” Morales (14-3, 7 KOs).
Hot super lightweight Antonio “KÑS” Lozada (31-1, 27 KOs) needed just 90 seconds to annihilate previously unbeaten José Luis Payán (9-1-1, 6 KOs).
