Mexican three-time world champion Humberto “Zorrita” Soto, is ready to face the Japan’s Hiroshi Nakamori on Saturday in Tijuana. On Thursday afternoon, a press conference was held with the participation of the WBC Executive Secretary Mauricio Sulaiman and multiple world champion Erik “Terrible” Morales.
“It’s a great fight, against a great opponent like Soto who has already been world champion,” said Nakamori.
Soto stated that he’s concentrated on the fight with Nakamori, and will leave any negotiations with the Morales camp in the hands of the promoters. “Erik was a great warrior, and as such I respect him, but if he wants to take someone with him into retirement, that definitely will not be me.”
Morales stated “There is expectation we are going to fight with Soto, a renowned fighter, but I have faced the major opponents in the divisions where I’ve been and I hope that my farewell fight will be with dignity and with great respect to people. I’ve always liked to be in big fights and really do not want to mislead people.”
