The press conference took place today for Saturday night’s big show on Saturday night in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico (televised on FOX Sports Espanol) featuring Humberto “La Zorrita” Soto and Jorge “Travieso” Arce, plus the rematch between Omar Chavez and Rodrigo Juarez.
Soto (52-7-2, 32 KOs) of Los Mochis Sinola, who defends his WBC lightweight title against Fidel Monterrosa (23-1, 18 KOs) of Colombia, stated that he is well prepared and will be victorious.
Monterrosa commented that he respects Soto, but it will be he who will have his arm raised.
Arce (55-6-1, 42 KOs) of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, who takes on former world champion Lorenzo “Lencho” Parra (31-2, 18 KOs) of Venezuela in a 12 round WBO junior featherweight elimination bout, said his bout against Parra will be tough but he’s ready to win.
Parra stated he’ll take the KO if it comes, but he’s prepared to go the distance to win.
Chávez Carrasco (23-0-1, 16 KOs) of Culiacan, Sinaloa will have a rematch with Rodrigo Juarez (15-11-1, 11 KOs) of Tijuana. They met a couple of months back with Chavez getting the nod on a very close fight.
