Spence destroys Charles; Sanchez stops Silva; Perales halts Martinez in San Antonio

2012 U.S. Olympian Errol Spence Jr. (12-0, 10 KOs) scored a first round KO over Raymond Charles (12-3-2, 5 KOs) in a junior middleweight bout on Friday night in the Illusions Theater at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Spence dropped Charles twice in round one and the bout was waved off at 2:52.

In the main event, welterweight Alan Sanchez (13-3-1, 7 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over Jorge “Pantera” Silva (19-6-2, 15 KOs). The bout was waved off after Sanchez dropped Silva face first with a right hand. Time was :42.

Also, in a non-televised bout, bantamweight Sergio Perales (24-2, 16 KOs) scored a come-from-behind tenth round TKO over local fan favorite and two-time world title challenger Raul Martinez (30-4, 18 KOs). Martinez had earlier dropped Perales twice, but faded and was floored himself in the final stanza.

Unbeaten jr welterweight Travell Mazion (8-0 7 KOs) destroyed Antonio Sanchez (5-4, 3 KOs) in the first round. Sanchez knocked out cold.

Jr welterweight Joseph “The Texas Mongoose” Rodriguez (6-0, 2 KOs) outpointed Francisco Arellano (4-3, 1 KO) over four by a 40-36 score on all cards.
