St Clair defeats Olarte

Former IBF 130 pound world champion Gairy St Clair (43-12-2, 18 KOs) scored a clear eight round decision over Filipino Rey Anton Olarte (16-22-8, 4 KOs) at the Hurstville Entertainment Center, Sydney, NSW, Australia Friday. Scores were as follows: Will Soulos 78-75, Kevin Hogan 78-76, David Grainger 79-74. St Clair was coming off a recent loss to former IBF 140 pound champion Lovemore Ndou. In main supporting bout, light heavyweight Junior Talipeau (18-2-1, 6 KOs) stopped Damien Smith (4-23-1, 1 KO) when the referee saved Smith from further punishment at :20 of round three.
