The Magdeburg based boxing world champion Robert Stieglitz (39-2, 23 KOs) is looking for the biggest challenge so far. “I want to fight against the best of the best. It is a decision of who is on top of the world. There is only one champion”, the WBO champion states refererring to his next fight. On April 9 the SES fighter will face the current WBA world champion Dimitri Sartison (27-1, 17 KOs) at the Bördelandhalle Magdeburg. Sartison claimed his title in the same year as Stieglitz. Sartison defeated Stjepan Bozic for the WBA championship on November 21 2009 and has since defended the title successfully one time. His only defeat stands against former world champion Mikkel Kessler but this is nearly three years ago. He has continiously work hard and he will now challenge WBO king Robert Stieglitz in Magdeburg.

“Two defending German world champions in a sporting battle. That has never been there before and it is German boxing history”, SES Promoter Ulf Steinforth commented about this battle. He was able to convice both fighters to meet inside the ring. “Many others always talk about big fights but we are the one to do it”, Steinforth added.

“I’m so thrilled about his fight! On April 9 we will make boxing history as it is the first time that two german world champions will face eachother inside the ring. This will be a very exciting and interesting fight I’m very confident that I will win this battle”, Dimitri Sartison said.

With the final decision for world champion coach Dirk Dzemski and the perfectly equipped in the SES-Boxgym Robert Stieglitz will have the ideal training conditions for this upcoming challenge with Dimitri Sartison. “I know Dirk for ten years now. We have been friends from the beginning and I trust him. He has proved with the success of Jan Zaveck and Lukas Konecny that he is the one for my perfect preparation”, Stieglitz highlighted. Alongside Dirk Dzemski the Stieglitz team will include a fitness coach and a performance diagnostician.

From a sportive point of view the chance to win for both champions is 50:50. Dimitri Sartison is knwon for his excellent technique while Robert Stieglitz is a fighter with untiring fitness and fighting spirit that he has proved in his last fights with a powerful performance over the 12 rounds to demoralize his opponents. This fight is a meeting on eye-level: two world champions, two worldclass fighters with an unknown ending. You can’t expect more tension and excitement.

The spectatcors in the Bördelandhalle will be the witness of an unprecedented sporting comparison and SAT.1 will televise the fight in Germany live for the fans in their living room.

An additional world championshp will feature fight Ramona Kühne. She will be challenged by also a strong opponent to be named. He fight against Ina Menzer, over a year ago in Magdeburg, is certainly still in good memories. The fight ended due to an injury on Kühne’s eye so that the sporting decision was left open. In her first fight in 2011 Kühne will try to show her great boxing skills and her good form when she returns to the Bördelandhalle on April 9.

On the undercard many talented and experienced SES fighters will also step into the ring which will be announced shortly.

SAT.1 will televise the “Battle of the Champions” live from the Magdeburger Bördelandhalle.
