A seemingly very competitive eight-round bout headlines tonight’s Baltimore Pro Boxing card at Martin’s West in Woodlawn, MD.
In the main event, undefeated Cecil “AK-47″ McCalla of Randallstown, MD will take on his toughest foe to date — John “No Mercy” Mackey from Montgomery, AL by way of Washington, DC. McCalla (6-0, two KO’s) is coming off a strong, six-round unanimous decision victory over Anthony Little on March 19 in Woodlawn. Mackey (11-2-1, five KO’s) lost his last contest, a 10-round unanimous decision to Anthony Greenridge for the NABA US Middleweight title on December 13 in Atlanta, GA. In the co-feature, Undefeated Baltimore welterweight James “Keep ‘em Sleepin” Stevenson (7-0, seven KO’s) will battle Dwayne “Diesel” Shelton of Louisa, VA (2-0) in a six-round contest. Stevenson scored a second-round TKO over Ken Dunham on the March 19 Woodlawn card. Shelton won a four-round unanimous decision over Mike Tiberi on November 14 in Millersville, MD.
Ellicott City, MD cruiserweight Robert “Mack Attack” McConnell (4-2, two KO’s) will go up against Edgewood’s Kevin Johnson (2-1, one KO) in a four-round heavyweight battle. McConnell registered a fourth-round TKO over Fred McClinton on April 10 in Baltimore, MD. Johnson won a four-round unanimous decision over Kareem Wilson on April 2 in Glen Burnie, MD.
