Sturm defeats Lorenzo

WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm (34-2-1, 14 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Giovanni Lorenzo (29-3, 21 KOs) on Saturday night at the Lanxess-Arena in Cologne, Germany. It took Sturm two rounds to shake off the ring rust from his 14 month layoff, but after getting untracked in round three Sturm dictated the fight with his jab. Lorenzo came on strong down the stretch, but it was too little too late as Sturm prevailed 117-111, 117-111, 118-111.
