Sulaiman still going strong

On Saturday, WBC President Jose Sulaiman Chagnon celebrated his 34th year as head of the World Boxing Council. Sulaiman was unanimously elected December 5th, 1975 at the WBC Convention in Tunesia. During his term, the WBC has sanctioned 1506 world title fights on five continents, the first being the day after his election when John Stracey dethroned Jose Napoles to become WBC welterweight champion. At 78 years young, the WBC chief is looking forward to another good year in 2010.
