With Arthur Abraham giving up his IBF middleweight title to move up to the super middleweight division, the IBF will mandate negotiations to begin between Abraham’s Sauerland stablemate #2 ranked Sebastian Sylvester of Germany and #1 ranked Giovanni Lorenzo of the Dominican Republic (27-1, 19 KOs). For Sylvester it would be his second attempt at a world title after he lost in his initial try to WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm in November of 2008 by unanimous decision. Sebastian won his last bout by unanimous decision over former world title challenger Lajuan Simon last month in Germany. Lorenzo defeated Colombian Dionisio Miranda in an IBF title eliminator by second round knockout in his last bout in February of this year.
