Talent show at Emperors Palace!

Jeff Ellis of African Ring in conjunction Golden Gloves Promotions presents a Box and Dine tournament at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa on Tuesday, July 28 which will feature some rising young stars. Young prospects like Grant Fourie, Johnny Muller, Robbie Lombard and Deon Coetzee will be featured. Also on the bill will be the more experienced Ronnie Lategan, Steven Castle and Ben Monareng.

Lightweight Grant Fourie (9-0) who meets Amos Nhlapho (1-6-2) over eight rounds will be hoping to get his career back on track after his controversial split decision win over Danile Botman last month.

On July 31 Mzonke Fana (28-4 11 KOs) and Jasper Seroka (18-1, 8 KOs) meet in an IBF junior lightweight title eliminator at the Nasrec Indoor Arena near Johannesburg.

The winner will be in line to fight the winner of the upcoming match between IBF junior lightweight champion Malcolm Klassen and Robert Guerro which takes place on August 22 in Houston, Texas.

Former IBO super flyweight champion Zolile Mbityi, 40, returns action after being out for ten months when he meets Julio Ler from the Philippines in a ten round junior bantamweight fight in East London on August 2.

It has also been announced that Tshepo Lefele will defend his South African mini flyweight title on September 18 in East London against Mawande Sibeko and on the same bill SA junior bantamweight champion Themba Joyi will defend his crown against Lwandile Sityata.
