Five-time world champ Johnny Tapia will make his return to the ring on March 6 at the Ohkay Casino near Espanola, N.M. The card will be a pro-am venture promoted by both, Team Tapia and T.U.F.F. Boxing, in association with the Ohkay Casino. Fifteen amateur bouts and six pro fights will be scheduled, with Tapia in the main event. Tapia is expected to be released from jail in January, where he has been serving a short-term parole violation sentence since mid-summer. Tapia, 56-5-2 (28 KOs), has been inactive since 2007.  – Chris Cozzone
