The end came at 1:09. It was Reyes’ first fight in a year-and-a-half and his 15th loss in 16 fights. In the co-main event Carlos “El Gallo” Sanchez (5-1, 2 KOs) defeated unwon Eric Bradford (0-5) of Lincoln, Nebraska, by KO in 0:31 seconds of the 2nd round. On the undercard: In a battle of Albuquerque bantams, Raymond “Hollywood” Montes (3-1, 2 KOs) survived a first round knockdown to defeat Alan Sanchez (2-1, 1 KO) by way of unanimous decision (37-34 twice and 38-34) after four rounds; Denver, Colorado’s John Grimaldo (3-0, 2 KOs) defeated Mitchell, Nebraska late sub Javier “Bombitas” Conde (0-1) by way of TKO in 2:05 of the 1st round; In a fight between debuting cruisers, cage fighter turn boxer Manuel “Mano” Otero (1-0, 1 KO) defeated Henry “Poison” Anaya III (0-1) in 1:38 of the 1st round. Anaya was down once before the stoppage; In the opening bout of the evening Albuquerque’s Matthew Salazar (1-1) defeated Johnny Tapia’s son, Johnathon Tapia, by unanimous decision after four rounds of boxing. Scores were 40-35 twice and 36-39.
