44-year-old former world champion Antonio Tarver is planning to return to the ring in late November. “The Magic Man” is currently looking to land a fight in his native State of Florida. Nothing is set at the moment, but Golden Boy matchmaker Eric Gomez confirmed to Fightnews.com that it’s possible Tarver could fight on a “Golden Boy Live” card taking place on November 25 at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, California.
Tarver has been out of the ring since a June 2012 draw with Lateef Kayode in an IBO cruiserweight championship fight that was later changed to a no decision after Tarver tested positive for an anabolic steroid, which he maintains was a false positive. He was suspended for one year and fined by the California Commission and dropped by Showtime from a promising career as a fight analyst.
