IBO cruiserweight champion Antonio Tarver has reportedly tested positive for a banned anabolic steroid in his drug test completed following his draw against Lateef Kayode on June 2 in Carson, California. Tarver, also a Showtime boxing analyst who is scheduled to work Saturday’s Ortiz-Lopez telecast, has been suspended by the California Commission pending the opening of the ‘B’ sample. As it stands now, Tarver would be the third high profile fighter to test dirty for steroid use in recent weeks, joining Andre Berto and Lamont Peterson.
