Middleweight contender LaJuan Simon (21-1-2, 12 KOs), coming off a hard-fought spirited loss to the IBF champion Arthur Abraham this March, is ready for more. Simon’s representative Greg Azar of the Rising Star Promotions has his eye on the former world champion Roman Karmazin.
“We have notified the IBF and Roman’s promoter Steven Bash that LaJuan wants to face Karmazin. Now that he has his tune up in, we’re here if he is serious about defending his title and moving up in the division. If they are looking for an opportunity, we will gladly fight Karmazin anywhere in the world and we’ll even let his promoter promote the show. It’s not our intent to start yelling and screaming to the press about other fighters but nobody wants to fight the USBA champ LaJuan Simon. Maybe Karmazin will step up now”.
Simon is ranked #12 by the IBF. Karmazin, IBF #5 middleweight, has just stopped Brazilian Luiz Augusto Dos Santos in four rounds this past Saturday in Chimkent, Kazakhstan.
