Telemundo returns to Tampa

After nearly 9 years of absence in the Tampa area, “Boxeo TELEMUNDO” returns with a dynamic show this Friday, June 4 at the A La Carte Event Pavilion in Tampa, FL. In the main event Mercito “Guerrero” Gesta (17-0, 7 KOs) of Cebu, Philippines will face Oscar “El Estudiante” Meza (19-3, 17 KOs) of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico in a bout scheduled for 12 rounds with the WBO Youth World Jr. Welterweight Title at stake. Also local hero Edner “Cherry Bomb” Cherry (27-6-2, 15 KOs) of Tampa, FL will battle Ira Terry (24-3, 14 KOs) of Memphis, TN in a bout schedule for 10 rounds in the lightweight division.

The card will also feature the US debut of Noe “El Carbonero” Gonzalez (23-1, 15 KOs) of Montevideo, Uruguay who will face Jose Michael “Michi” Munoz (22-4, 11 KOs) of Mexico in a fight also scheduled for 10 rounds in the Middleweight division.

A total of 10 fights are scheduled with the first bell at 7:00 PM. The event is being promoted by Tuto Zabala, Jr.and All Star Boxing, Inc. “The New Generation”, Aaron Jacobs and Fight Night Productions, LLC and Chester Koerner of TKO Boxing Productions, LLC. The Gonzalez-Munoz bout is in association with Sampson Boxing, LLC.

The main event will be televised live at 11:35 PM by the Telemundo Network on HD.
