Things are heating up at the press conference for Tuesday’s big boxing show in Cancun. Triple world champion Jorge “Travieso” Arce (52-5-1, 40 KOs) is set to collide with unbeaten South African Simphiwe Nongqayi (15-0, 6 KOs) for the IBF super flyweight title. The battle has added intrigue as Nongqayi previously conquered Arce’s brother Panchito. Additional highlights include WBC super featherweight champion Humberto “Zorrita” Soto (48-7-2, 31 KOs) defending his title against unbeaten Colombian Aristides Perez (15-0-1, 8 KOs) plus the return of former flyweight monarch Ulises “Archie “Solis (28-2-2, 20 KOs).

The card billed as “GOES FOR MEXICO IN ONE SHOT III” will take place at the Plaza de Toros Arena in this beautiful city where thousands of fans will cheer their independence.

What appeared like a normal press conference, suddenly heated up at the end when Humberto “Zorrita” Soto and Colombian Aristedes Pérez gave a small taste of what will happen in the ring. The rumpus started at the end of Q&A session, when the fighters were placed on the podium for photos, however, the Colombian placed his fist on the chin of Soto and this turned up the jostling with ‘Zorrita’ vowing he’ll beat Perez “to death.” Fortunately the members of the respective teams and fellow boxers managed to calm the situation before it became dangerous.

Meanwhile both Jorge “Travieso” Arce and Simphiwe Nongqayi promised that they’ll seek victory at all costs, Arce with the desire to revenge the defeat of his brother “Panchito” Arce, while Simphiwe saying that his people are counting on him to bring home the IBF crown.

The weigh-in will take place Monday at noon. The event will be televised by TV Azteca in Mexico, presented by Zanfer and Pepe Gomez in partnership with the Government of Quintana Roo.
