Welterweight Jorge “Maromerito” Paez (37-4-1, 22 KOs) scored a seventh round KO over Ivan Hernandez (29-5, 23 KOs) in the main event on Saturday night at the Auditorio del Estado in Mexicali, BCN, Mexico. Paez dropped Hernandez with a left hook to the chin in round four, then finished him with the same punch in round seven.

While celebrating his victory, former multi-division world champion Erik “Terrible” Morales, entered the ring and challenged “Maromerito” to a fight. Paez agreed immediately. According to promoter Zanfer, if negotiations go smoothly, this fight could take place in March 2014, possibly in Mexicali or Tijuana, hometowns of “Maromerito” and “Terrible” respectively.

In a big upset, South African super flyweight Zolani Tete (18-3, 16 KOs) scored a tenth round KO over former IBF super flyweight champion Juan Carlos “Zurdito” Sanchez Jr (17-2-1, 9 KOs). The bout was an IBF eliminator. Tete dropped Sanchez in round five, but Sanchez returned the favor in round six.
