Theran beats Carrera in Colombia

Unbeaten world ranked middleweight contender Alex Theran (16-0, 9 KOs) dropped Javier Carrera (13-1, 10 KOs) in round two and went go on to defeat Carrera by eleven round unanimous decision to claim the vacant WBC Latino and WBA Fedelatin middleweight titles. The official scores were 107-101, 108-100, and 106-102.

The bout took place Friday night at the Coliseo Elias Chegwin, in Barranquila, Colombia with Juan Carlos Devia’s Pro Box Del Caribe promoting. Theran is rated #7 by the WBA.
