Three Olympians to be showcased on FSN

Three 2012 United States Olympians will have showcase fights on Saturday night’s FOX Sports Network/FOX Deportes telecast from Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. 2012 Olympian Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz (5-0, 3 KOs) will battle an opponent to be named in a six-round featherweight bout and Diaz’ Olympic teammate Errol Spence Jr. (6-0, 5 KOs) will see action in a six-round junior middleweight fight against an opponent to be named. Their fellow Olympian Terrell Gausha (4-0, 2 KOs) will join them on the card in a four/six round bout that will be televised time permitting.

Super lightweight Frankie “Pitbull” Gomez was originally slated to face DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley in the main event, but Gomez withdrew due to a knee injury. Local super bantamweight Randy Caballero against Miguel Robles is now the main event.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
