Ticket Alert: Acosta-Rios

Tickets go on sale tomorrow – Saturday, January 8, noon – for the Miguel Acosta vs Brandon Rios world lightweight title fight Feb 26 at the Palms Casino Resort. Notre Dame champion Mike Lee of Chicago will also box on the Top Rank championship card. Lee, a three-time champion at Notre Dame, is trained by Ronnie Shields in Houston. Acosta, from Caracas, is the WBA lightweight champion. He has won 19 fights in a row and has been unbeaten the last seven years. He has defeated three undefeated fighters in his last eight bouts. Rios, from Oxnard, Ca., last year scored his biggest win, defeating Anthony Peterson at the Palms. He is managed by Cameron Dunkin and trained by Robert Garcia in Oxnard, Ca. Acosta vs. Rios will be televised live on Showtime Championship Boxing. The fight card will be held in the Pearl Concert Theatre.
