In tragic news, Tijuana junior welterweight Humberto Tapia (15-16-1, 8KOs) was gunned down at the Ulloa Gym where he trained late Tuesday night. No details are given except that he was shot by an individual who Tapia had issues with in the past. The twenty-five year old Tapia began his professional career in ’04 and was known as a tough out for many up and coming prospects such as Brandon Rios, Jeffrey Resto, Rock Allen, Danny Garcia, Carlos Molina and Antonio Orozco, going the distance against all of them. May he Rest in Peace.
