Former world title challenger Elvin Ayala (18-3-1, 8 KOs) has joined forces with Las Vegas based TKO BOXING Promotions in an exclusive promotional agreement. In Ayala’s last bout on March 29, 2008, he battled IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham over twelve hard fought rounds before being stopped in the final stanza. He fought to a draw with Sergio Mora in October 2007. The 27 year old Ayala will return to the ring against TBA on January 23rd at the Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. “Elvin has all the tools to be a world champion and our goal is to get him another shot at the title this year. Prior to the fight with Abraham he had the draw with Sergio Mora who went on to beat Vernon Forrest so there’s no question in our mind that he can compete at a world class level. We’re proud to add him to our team at TKO Boxing,” said TKO chief Chet Koerner.
