Tom Mishou passes

Tom Mishou, former Secretary of the Georgia Athletic & Entertainment Commission, passed away early this morning after a long battle with cancer. Mishou was a hard nosed commission representative overseeing boxing during his stint. Always focused on the betterment of the sport he presided with fairness for everyone around him, but also extremely firm when anyone broke a rule. He’d give you fair warning once or twice, but if he found you purposely breaking a rule or skating the law, he’d have no problem publicly reprimanding you. He was extremely good at his job and loved the sport of boxing. Tom would often go out of his way to make sure that the media would be accommodated at events and was a devout reader of He was a friend of all in the boxing industry and will be remembered by all for his smile, engaging personality and work ethic. will miss him.
