After a four-month hiatus from boxing, heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek (48-2, 29 KO) starts training camp in New Jersey today. A decision about his next opponent and fight date is expected shortly.
“Right now, after some running and without being a day in the gym, my weight is around 220 pounds, maybe a little less,” said Adamek in a Fightnews.com interview. “Roger (Bloodworth) is arriving today, and I’m sure he’s happy that his wish came true. After the Cunningham win, he told me that I have to take a rest, that fighting four times a year like I did in 2012 is not for me. Roger said that I can’t touch the gloves for at least three months, and this is exactly what happened. I hope that in the coming week I’ll be able to confirm the date and place of the fight. In boxing you never can say anything 100 percent, things changing too quickly. It’s something maddening, all those changes, but this is the business I’m in,” said ‘Góral.’
