Many boxing fans are eagerly awaiting the main supporting bout to the IBO Cruiserweight Title fight between Danny Green and Manny Siaca in Perth next week. It features Australia’s brightest boxing prospect in undefeated Will Tomlinson (11-0, 10KO’s) who faces off against unbeaten Oscar Bravo (13-0, 8 KO’s) from Chile in an intruiging bout. The 23 year old Aussie, known as “Wild Will” was voted the country’s best prospect for 2009 and is now keen to move up the world rankings. He has been sparring with WBA featherweight champion Chris John and Yuri Gamboa in the USA in recent months and has held his own against such recognized champions. He spoke to Fightnews today stating, “People think this will be a tough fight for me but I just see it as an opportunity to show the boxing world my true pedigree. Yes Bravo is unbeaten like myself and he is from a good South American boxing pedigree but I have come to a stage in my career where I want this type of challenge- I need this type of challenge.
“The many rounds I have done with Chris John and Yuri Gamboa have given me so much confidence to take on unbeaten fighters like Bravo and with 5,500 fans packing the Challenge Stadium in Perth to see Danny Green then this will be a fantastic night to show everyone in Australia what I am capable of.”
” I am proud that I am the main supporting bout to such a big boxing occasion in Perth. I promise that all the Australian boxing fans will not be let down- it will be a great fight, a great test for me and a tremendous occasion.”
Tickets for the bill sold out in two hours when they were released last month as a “homecoming” fight for IBO Cruiserweight champion Danny Green.
The fight will be shown in Australian on PPV via Main Events.
