Australian 154 pounder Tyrone Tongia (13-2, 7 KOs) scored a fourth round disqualification win over Indonesian Aswin Cabuy (11-13-1, 4 KOs) in the man event at the Broncos Leagues Club, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on Friday. The referee disqualified the importation in round four after repeated infringements. Cabuy holds a 2008 victory over WBO-rated Samuel Colomban. Tongia is regarded as one of Australia’s best prospects.
In the main supporting bout, super middleweight Omar Shaick (4-0, 3 KOs) scored his most impressive win when he knocked out Kashif Mumtaz (5-12-1, 4 KOs) in three rounds. Mumtaz had extended former world rated Daniel Lovett and dropped twelve round decision to WBA-rated Les Sherrington in 2009.
Super middleweight George Huni (1-3-2, 1 KO) won a four round split decision over Marlon Toby (2-7).
Welterweight Brett John Smith (1-2) won a four round split decision over Steve Wijangco.
Jr welterweight Wayne Parsons (1-0) scored a knockout over Melvin Hernandez (1-1) in round one.
Super featherweight Corey McConnell (2-0) won a four round decision over Sydney boxer Kane Buckley (1-14-2).
Light heavyweight Phillip Maley (3-1) stopped leigh Blacka (0-1) in round four.
