Former 1980s Australian welterweight contender Tony “Tiger” Campbell has suddenly passed away in Sydney at the age of 48 years. Tony was a tough walk up southpaw who clashed with world class Jeff “Flash” Malcolm in 1982 and three-time world challenger Troy Waters in 1985. Tony had 35 fights and also clashed with Russell Sands, Billy Harrison, John Boglin and Roy Alexander. Tony will be sadly missed by his family and the Australian boxing fraternity. Funeral service for Tony will be at Pinegrove Crematorium at Minchinbury in West Chapell at 11:30AM Friday.
