Tony Thompson rested, ready to return

After consecutive KO wins over highly regarded David Price, followed by a decision loss to Kubrat Pulev on short notice, heavyweight Tony “The Tiger” Thompson has informed that he’s rested and ready to get back in the ring. “I’m a well-rested Tony Thompson. I’m back in the gym. And taking that Pulev fight with such a short time in between fights definitely did me in. But a well-rested Tony Thompson with ample time to prepare for any opponent out there is a dangerous Tony Thompson. I feel good. I feel strong. And I’m looking for a fight. No more of this reaching out on Twitter or Facebook with bogus offers you’re not ready to back up. And as far as [Deontay] Wilder is concerned, Wilder may be saying yes, but his manager is saying HELL NO. Fury, Povetkin, Adamek, it don’t matter. I’m here, my team is here, and my wife is ready to look at all offers.”

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
