Top Rank inks Sam Peter!

Former world heavyweight champion Sam Peter of Nigeria has signed with Top Rank and will fight this weekend in Mexico. Peter, (30-3-0, 23 KOs) will fight on Top Rank’s Latin Fury 10 in Tepic, Mexico. He will take on Marcus McGee, (22-16-1, 11 KOs). The bout will be on Top Rank’s international broadcast. Peter is ranked IBF #6, WBC #14.Bruce Trampler, chief matchmaker of Top Rank, said: “Our whole team is going to work with Sam. We know what he wants, another crack at the heavyweight world title. He has the right kind of thunder to get there.” Peter signed his promotional contract in Top Rank’s office in Las Vegas today. He will take a flight to Mexico on Wednesday.
