Mexican multiple-divison world champion Jorge “Travieso” Arce on Tuesday began his training in Mexico City at the historic Romanza Gym with Hall of Fame trainer Ignacio Beristain. Arce (61-2-2, 46 KOs) will challenge WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (30-1, 19 KOs) on December 15 in the new Mexico City Arena in a mega-event presented by Zanfer Promotions and Top Rank.
In Donaire, Arce faces a fighter recognized among the world’s best pound for pound fighters,” but Arce is confident he can accomplish the upset. “They will say that I’m crazy and many things more, but I have shut the mouths of naysayers in the ring several times before and Donaire will be no exception. I’m preparing myself like never before with Nacho Beristain, the best Mexican trainer ever and I will win on December 15,” proclaimed Arce.
