Travis Walker favored to win Prizefighter

Heavyweight Travis Walker looks set to land the Prizefighter International Heavyweights III title on Saturday night, according to the betting on Betfair. Despite being knocked out by Tomasz Adamek in the fifth round of his last fight, Walker is the current 2-1 favourite to triumph at York Hall in Bethnal Green on Saturday. This event can be seen on the February 28th edition of Wealth TV’s weekly “Fight Night” series. Punters are backing Walker to win the eight-man knockout tournament ahead of native Londoner Audley Harrison. The British veteran is the 7-2 second favourite to bag his second Prizefighter crown, while former world title challenger Albert Sosnowski is a 4-1 chance to triumph in east London.

Home support could be crucial for Brixton’s Ian Lewison, who is a 13-2 chance for victory in the East End. Belfast’s Marty Rogan, winner of the first ever Prizefighter event back in 2008, is a 7-1 shot to win this time out. Odds of 17-1 suggest that success will be harder to come by for Derric Rossy, as it will be for Claus Bertino at 25-1. Timo Hoffman is the least fancied to win the competition at 29-1.

“Walker’s favourite tag will surprise some people,” Betfair’s Alex Bake said. “He doesn’t have the pedigree or the experience of, say, Rogan or Harrison. But he’s a solid fighter and with ‘The Freight Train’ for a nickname, he could power through to win.”
